SCALEXTRIC 300 TR7 RALLYCROSS UNUSUAL HORNBY BOX NEAR MINT COMPLETE C614 1980

I don’t know if this was a mail order version or a trade version or promo version. I have not seen any like this with this box for sale anywhere else including on eBay and I have never seen one like this before. This set is uncommon, compared to the Mini Clubman version and the version with the coloured box sells for a premium over the Mini version. Normally they have the coloured box. This is a brown box marked Hornby.

Includes instructions and unused penalty cards.

The instructions say C614 21 5 1980 which I assume is when this was made or released – 21st May 1980. I have not been able to find confirmation of the C614 being for this set. But the date and catalogue number are as shown in the photo.

The box has the mailing label when originally sent to a customer in Wales.

Untested as didn’t want to spoil how unused and unspoilt this is.

Cars are in mint condition. Not a blemish visible and they look unused if not very lightly used. I have not tested them but I can do so if you request it.

The track is slightly aged on the rails but is very good – please see photos.

As it is unused, the polystyrene has reacted with the cables. This should not affect how it is used as this can be easily removed.

You will need to fit a plug, as it was when created in 1980.
