Re-capping Service For YOUR Sinclair ZX Spectrum 16k, 48k, 48k+ (Plus) (Replacing All Electrolytic Capacitors)

Description

This is a service offered by PopeyMon to replace all electrolytic capacitors on your Sinclair ZX Spectrum 16k/48 with rubber keys or your ZX Spectrum +. I offer a similar service for the Sinclair 128k “Toastrack” and Grey +2, and a separate service for the Black +2 and +3 models.

Electrolytic capacitors live on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) inside your Spectrum. They can deteriorate with age, outside temperature, dampness, heat inside the Spectrum and with use.

Capacitors that are worsening can cause problems for your Spectrum and can even damage other components or even stop your Spectrum from working altogether.

It works like this:

1. You buy and pay for the service and return postage. You provide contact details when ordering from the PopeyMon Webshop.
2. I send you the address to send the machine to.
3. You package it up and send me your Sinclair ZX Spectrum.
4. I carefully replace each and every electrolytic capacitor with a quality new capacitor. This will be quality Vishay, Panasonic or Nichicon capacitors.
5. If you wish, I can also perform the “composite modification” to make the video display a composite signal for modern TVs, instead of the old analogue RF signal on Channel 36 UHF. There is no extra charge for this service, if you are buying the re-capping service.
6. Optionally, I can perform repairs or other work as requested by you. This costs extra.
7. I send you the Invoice for any extra work. You pay.
8. I send the Spectrum back to you, carefully packaged. Basic postage is included, but you can choose other services such as Special Delivery, if you tell me to use that instead.

This service is for replacing the electrolytic capacitors only. If you wish, I can also perform the optional “composite video mod”. Please specify this when you order. There is no extra charge for performing the basic composite mod. I will also do a discount on a further bundle of services.
